Welcome Home

My kids were all really excited to see Uncle Cody but this face says it all! She said to me twice going into the airport, "mom this is going to be soooo exiciting!"
She gives the best hugs in the whole world!
What every mom deserves and needs after two years!
Someone to look Up Too! We are so glad to have Uncle Cody home and can't wait to hear all about South Africa!

Ute Stampede

A picture very similar to this one of Kaci made it in the Times News with the title "future 2020 Ute Stampede Queen." She now believes that when she is bigger she is going to be the Ute Stampede Queen she reminds me every so often and when I forget she says remember the paper says I am. So Cute I can't wait!!!

Nephi's biggest holiday is the UTE STAMPEDE when Dan and I first got married we never missed a performance. When Zeak started rodeoing we didn't enjoy going to the Stampede as much so for the last few years we have watched the parades but haven't made it to a rodeo. This year Dan decided that his business needed to ride through the parade so Thursday night in the horse parade we rode as a family. Kaci was so cute. Everyone wondered why she was on the biggest horse. The reason is he is the best horse we own so even though it doesn't appear to be the safest for the littlest girl to be on the biggest horse this was our safest option. Dan rode his colt in the parade for the first time and she did awesome. We had a great time and we enjoyed watching the rodeo this year with our friends the Halls. Aaron and Dan have been friends since high school and we still enjoy being with them. It was fun to be involved in the action this year.

Dan did several Brazilian BBQs this summer. He served a mission in Salvador, Brazil and he loves to share with others. This BBQ was for the scouts. We make beans and rice with the meat, everyone has to be brave and try them. My favorite part of the BBQ is the BBQ pineapple. I LOVE IT and so does most everyone. Lucky for us this BBQ isn't just a summer thing we love to BBQ year round.

4th of July Weekend

We had such a busy two days with theses awesome cousins that we were to tired for the fireworks.

"I love July," said Kaci And so do I. It one of my favorite holidays. We reflect on the blessing and privilege of being an American. This celebration for us always includes families. This year we celebrated with the Woodland side of the family. Our celebrating started Friday afternoon at the Payson Pool. It was a little cool for the St George bunch but it didn't keep anyone from swimming. That evening we had dinner and a HUGE birthday party for all of the Woodlands. This was something new we tried this year and it was a lot of fun. Saturday the festivities continued at the Nephi park, dinner and cake and ice cream for Kolten's real birthday. A pinata completed the fun since all the cousins had to leave early for their church assignments. It is comforting to know that we all have strong religious background and take our callings serious and serve to our fullest. That night we went back into Nephi for the fireworks. My kids were so exhausted from all of the fun with their cousins that they had a hard time staying awake. What a fun and memorable weekend!

Red Cliff Ride

The Beginning

Grandma and Grandpa Berezay wanted to go on a 4 wheeler ride up to the Red Cliffs. They herd cows on the front side all of the time but had never been on the back side. Last year we failed to get that ride in so this year that was our goal. Monday night we gathered everyone for a Family Home Evening 4 Wheeler Ride. Nessa and Jake planned the songs and lesson. We stopped and played games in the snow and sang songs at a few other stops. Then Grandma shared a fun story with us about a flower. The ride was gorgeous the flowers were amazing. I love being in the mountains. When we got home we cooked pie iron pizza for dinner it was a great night. Poor Jake did end up setting his hand on the hot pie iron and burning his hand pretty good. It took a few days to stop burning and start healing. Kaci through a fit about the dinner she had to eat and the famous saying of the night that has been a fun memory is, "We should not have come hear this is not Fun" We still laugh about this. I am glad we got this fun ride full of great memories in this year.
Forget Me Not
This gorgeous little blue flower was all over the Red Cliffs. When we stopped Grandma Janice told us that it was called Forget Me Not. The story is that when Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden this flower didn't want to be forgot and so they took it with them.
